The Surgery

“ Eliza , Eliza , get out of here , a little girl shouldn’t be in here to see this “ , Eliza wakes up in her bed and starts to shake , it’s morning , her parents have gone to work and her little brother has went to school , today is her eighteenth birthday , Eliza gets dressed in her room and heads downstairs with all her stuff and stands in front of her house , waiting for the bus to pass through , the bus stops in front of her house moments later and she walks onto the bus , as Eliza is walking through the isle , one of the students puts out their feet knocking Eliza to the floor . Eliza gets up slowly and turns her face to the one that tripped her and grins , but suddenly her eyes turn completely black , causing the student to get scared and call her a freak , causing a string of vulgar names to be called , throughout the bus ride to school , Eliza sits down next to her best friend , Avery , Avery puts her arms around Eliza and says “ Don’t take anything from these people , they don’t know anything about you “ , Eliza cries in Avery’s arms and replies “ This has started happening to me today , I’m starting to remember a horrible surgery , I saw in my childhood , It was too traumatic , my dream didn’t show me much besides the doctor covered in what looks like blood and then I woke up and now the image won’t go away “ .
The bus stops in front of the school ten minutes  later , as all of the students are leaving off the bus , each one can be heard , “  she is such a freak  “ , Eliza walks into the school with Avery and she starts to feel a pain in her chest as she catches another glimpse of her past , this time seeing her family strapped up to a machine naked and with their legs spread open , Eliza snaps back into herself and starts to cry into Avery’s arms again , Eliza says “ I saw it again , this time my family was strapped to a weird machine and then I snapped out of it , please help me , this is really making me uneasy “ . Avery replies “ The best I can do , since I haven’t had anything like you have , is too help you try to forget about any of this and go through the day without any problems “ , The bell rings and Avery walks Eliza to her first period class , Avery says “ Meet me by our second period class right after class , I want to talk to you about what’s going on “ , Eliza nods her head and walks into the class room too her desk , the students from the bus raise their hand to the teacher and says “ Does this freak have to be in our class , I don’t feel very good with her around us “ .
 The teacher says with disgust “ If I hear you call another student a freak again in my class , you will have to leave this class and go to the principle , I don’t condone that type of behavior in my class “ , the students proceed to call her names throughout the period of the class , leading Eliza to go into a deep trance , putting her back into her memory , Eliza appears sitting in the doctor’s office , sitting in front of the emergency room that her parents are in . Eliza stands up from the chair and begins to walk towards the emergency room , the nurse quickly notices she is gone and picks her up and puts her back on the chair and says “ Stay here baby girl , your parents will be out shortly , they have to finish up before they could allow you to go in “ , moments later Eliza wakes up and all of the students are in the back of the room scared shitless , Eliza looks at her hands and notices there’s blood and hair on them , on the floor near her is a body of one of the students , not dead , but brutally hurt .
The student’s say “ Please just go , we didn’t mean for you to end up like this , we just wanted to make someone else feel horrible for once , but look at what happened , one of my friends are nearly beat to hell , all because we couldn’t just leave you alone “ , Eliza runs out of the classroom scared and runs outside to the courtyard , Eliza looks around for any of the faculty before she runs towards the bathroom across the way , Eliza runs to the bathroom and locks herself in it . A moment passes as the bathroom door gets knocked on and a girl starts screaming through the door “ Let me in , I have to use the bathroom badly , please “ , Eliza walks to the door and lets the girl in , the girl runs to the back of the bathroom and goes into the start , Eliza hears her screaming in pain as blood drips onto the floor and starts to flow down towards Eliza , Eliza backs away as the girl stops and opens the stall door .
Eliza stands back as the girl walks out of the stall with a opened mouth and creepy eyes , the girl says as she’s walking towards Eliza “ You are next , my little girl , you were safe as a kid , but now you will be one of us , after today , you will become part of your family forever “ , Eliza blinks her eyes and the bathroom is back to normal , the girl comes out of the stall and says “ Thank you for letting me in , I really owe you one “ . The girl leaves the bathroom back to her class and one of the faculty see’s a tiny glimpse of Eliza’s hand , the faculty member walks over to the bathroom and knocks on the door hard , then proceeds to try and open the door but see’s that it is locked , the faculty member takes out their keys and finds the key for the bathroom , slowly turning it , he starts to hear a noise , the faculty member ignores it and proceeds to open the door , catching his eye in the distance Eliza curled up into a ball and rocking back and forth .
 The faculty member attempts to talk to Eliza but stays away as much as he can , just in case she goes crazy and attempts to attack him , the faculty member says “ Eliza , are you ok , this is Jonathan , I noticed you were in here , I just wanted to make sure that you won’t do anything to yourself or anyone else “ , Eliza gets up quickly and arches her head , staring at the faculty member , Eliza runs towards him and lifts him up by his neck , pushing him up against the door . Eliza says “ You want to help me , after all that you have done to my parents “ , the faculty member replies while choking “ I don’t know what your talking about “ , Eliza gets out of her trance and drops the teacher onto the floor , Eliza runs out of the bathroom as the bell starts to ring Eliza runs to her second period class , her friend Avery standing in front of the classroom says “ Eliza , is everything ok “ , Eliza replies “ I can’t do this , I blanked out and I picked up Jonathan , one of the teachers , right off the floor “ .
Avery says “  We need to get you out of here , if the principle finds out about what you did , you could be expelled and there is no way they would believe your story about your family , they always go back to all of the teachings that they had to learn about kids in order to make their jobs a lot easier , they will just send you to the guidance counselor , if you attempt to tell them about your problems , you will be sent to a crazy house and who knows if you will be away from them for long “ . Eliza replies “ We better go then , do you have a car we can take , I want to go home and get some rest , I need to figure out everything before it’s too late “ , Avery says “ I don’t exactly have my own car , but my boyfriend gave me a spare key to his car , so if anything ever happened with his set , so we will take his car , we just need to hide and slowly get to the parking lot , if they catch us , our parents will get so pissed off when they get the call “.
The final bell rings for the kids to rush over to class before they are tardy , Avery and Eliza run into the girls bathroom and hides , Avery peers out of the bathroom to see if the coast is clear , Avery says “ Quickly the hall is clear , lets head out to the parking lot “ , Eliza follows out behind Avery as they head out of the building , stopping just before the exit of the school , Avery peaks around to find cops in front of the school , Eliza goes into a trance and falls in front of Avery . Eliza appears back in the waiting room by her parents emergency room , Eliza runs towards the emergency room and gets inside , as the nurse runs after her Elize puts a chase on the door , keeping her from opening it the doors , Eliza walks towards the end of the hall and suddenly starts to here machines going , Eliza gets a little scared but continues to walk ignoring her fear , Eliza starts to hear a voice “ Eliza wake up , were in jail , they called our parents “ .
 As Eliza starts to see her parents in the distance , a barrier appears around her keeping her from going any further , suddenly a dark figure appears in front of her parents and throws a scalpel at Eliza , taking her out of the trance and bringing her back into her body , Eliza opens her eyes and gets up quickly , while Avery is holding her , Eliza screams out “ Please , don’t let them get me , I just want to go home , please keep my parents away from me “ . The cops come out from the next room , the cops say “ Shut up in here , your parents will be here in a few minutes “ , Eliza Replies “ Please , if you want to live , then let us go and nothing will happen to any of you “ , The cops smirk and say “ Were the police , do you really think we are scared , we have guns , what do your parents have , nothing “ , Eliza replies “ It’s not as easy as it seems , my parents are very dangerous , until you are actually alone with them , you will never know their true nature “ .
Fifteen minutes later , Avery and Eliza’s parents come into the police station , Avery’s mom and dad come into the holding room where Avery and Eliza are held but only Eliza’s mom comes , Eliza says “ Mom where’s dad “ , Eliza’s mom replied “ Your father has been really sick , I left him home , you have a lot of explaining to do , I can’t believe any of these cops , they all look like they are abusive towards they’re keep “ , the cops say “ Say that one more time , this time with my gun out “ .  Eliza’s mom says “ I don’t think you girls want to see this “ , Eliza’s mom picks up both the cops by their necks and instantly snaps their necks , dropping their dead bodies to the floor , Avery says “ You were telling the truth , there is something strange about your family , but also a bit cool “ , Avery’s mom runs out of the police station after seeing the horror in front of her , Eliza’s mom replies “ I told you , you wouldn’t want to see this , your mom couldn’t take it “ .
Eliza’s mom walks to the door of the holding cell and rips it off of its hinges , throwing it across the room , Eliza’s mom says “ Quickly let’s leave before more cops come here , wondering why they wouldn’t answer their walkies , Avery takes Eliza’s hand and runs in front of their mom as they trail for her car  , Eliza’s mom gives them the keys as she looks around for any of the other cops , Avery goes into the driver’s side and proceed to drive the car , Eliza’s mom notices the car going on and runs for the car trying to stop it , but Avery reverses the car , hitting Eliza’s mom , knocking her out in the parking lot of the police station . More cops drive up to the parking lot and attempt to check the moms pulse , Eliza glares into the mirror , while her mom gets off of the floor and proceeds to rip each of the cops in half , Eliza says with a scared voice “ Get us out of here fast , mom isn’t dead , she just killed all of the cops “ , Eliza’s mom then steals one of the cop cars and proceeds to chase Eliza and Avery , Eliza’s mom trails behind them  at full speed , ramming the cop car into their bumper .
 Eliza’s mom turns on the sirens and puts on the cop car intercom , Eliza’s mom says “ If you girls don’t pull over , I will stop you one way or another , but I want my daughter , she needs to come home with me , it’s her time “ , Avery begins to drive faster , going through every red light , leading to Eliza’s house , they get into her houses drive way and quickly run into the house , locking themselves in Eliza’s room . Eliza’s mom finally gets to the house and parks the cop car in front of the door and breaks through the front door , Avery and Eliza upstairs go quiet after hearing the door being knocked down , Eliza’s mom yells “ Eliza , it’s time for your surgery , me and your dad had to go through it , it’s your time now “ , Avery stays quiet but Eliza starts to scream because a sharp pain starts to linger in her head , Eliza falls to her knees and blood starts to drip from her nose .
Eliza’s mom says “ If we don’t get you to your surgery you could end up dead , I won’t tell you how , until you come down and show yourself to me “ , Avery says “ Don’t do it , your mom has to be bluffing “ , Eliza replies “ This is really hurting me , I can’t take this pain anymore “ , Eliza passes out on the floor once again , appearing in the emergency room , catching a glimpse of the doctor at the end of the room and hearing the machines go off , catching sight of her parents suspended in the air . Eliza walks towards the end of the room and the barrier appears again , but this time Eliza doesn’t allow the dark shadowy figure to push her out , instead she calls out her parents which unlocks the barrier and extinguishes the shadowy figure , Eliza runs to her parents and to her disgust , sees a creepy bug peering out of her parents mouth , the doctor appears behind her and says “ You shouldn’t be seeing this yet , you aren’t supposed to see this until your of age “ , Eliza looks at her parents are they look straight at her with dark black eyes .
Eliza’s parents say “ It’s your time , Eliza , you better get the surgery or end up like me “ , a image of her dad appears in her head of him in his bed , head missing and blooding covering his pillow , Eliza wakes up from the trance and runs out of her room , knocking over her mother , Eliza runs into her parent’s room where she falls to the floor and starts to cry as she sees her dad , decapitated In his bed with blood everywhere . Eliza’s mom gets up from the floor and says “ Come with me Eliza or you will end up like your father , you see the surgery didn’t work on him , so our natural beings couldn’t be kept in check , we aren’t even from this world , we were created thousands of years ago , in an attempt to be the perfect weapon for battle , once we die our consciousness goes into our bug bodies , but without a host we end up dying because of the pressure , the memory you had from when you were six , was actually us on our home planet , you don’t really remember anything after because all of our bodies are new , but your dad never made it because his new body couldn’t take the pressure of our bug bodies “.
 Eliza replies “ What does this surgery have to do with me now “ , Eliza’s mom replies “ Every couple of years we have to replace our human hosts in order to keep our bodies growing , until we are able to survive on this planet without needing a host “ , Eliza says “ We’re we the only kind of creatures on Earth or are they’re more than just us “ , Eliza’s mom replies “ Our planet was destroyed after the war between the bugs ended with everyone eating each other , because only me and your dad was left , because the doctor couldn’t make it with us , we had to repopulated another planet , so we came here in order to breed with other humans and make more of our species “ . Eliza says “ Wait , what about my little brother , I thought you guys kept bring him to school every day “ , Eliza’s mom replies “ You never had a brother , we simply told you that , so you wouldn’t take a look in our special room  “ , Eliza runs pushing her mom off of the stairs , causing her to hit the glass table below her , jabbing a large piece of glass into her heart , Eliza’s mom says “ Owww , why did you do that Eliza , I just wanted to help you grow more , now we will all die unless you can help us repopulate , Eliza’s mom dies instantly from a ruptured heart , instantly causing her to leave her body and roam around the house trying to find a suitable host .
Eliza’s mom attempts to scurry outside into the darkness , getting to the end of the driveway as Eliza runs outside after her and stomps her , killing her instantly and leaving bug guts spread across the pavement , Eliza begins to cry and says “ Before I go , I want to at least know what they were hiding from me for this long besides my true nature “ , Avery slowly walks down stairs scared to crap for what she has seen and says “ Eliza , does this mean you never were my friend “ , Eliza replies “ No , I was your friend , that was all true , but this was never my body , I took over the person that you would have been really good friends with , but I will give you something important to do for me , after I see my families secret room , I want you to destroy my bug body , that is the only thing keeping me on this planet , my race needs to be extinct , without us humanity will become a better place , you know what , on second thought , I will light this place on fire and nothing will be left of my family or their legacy “.
Eliza goes to the basement and finds a torch in the back , for some reason was never touched , kind of strange for her , but she takes it up stairs and proceeds to find matches in the draw in the kitchen , Avery takes the matches from Eliza and says “ Please you don’t have to do this , I will be there for you when you need a new body to take over , I don’t want to be stuck without a friend “ , Eliza replies “ When I take over a new human body , I don’t remember anything I’ve done with the previous one , we can only make our own memories , once we swap we forget everything about that person to make room for the next one “. Avery smirks and says “ Then I guess this is good bye , one last thing before you destroy your home and yourself in it , was anything we did together important to you at all “ , Eliza replies “ Everything we did together , felt new all the time , I never truly had someone I can be friends with , until you , I didn’t have any sort of connections , I never had a boyfriend , so the best I could do was find someone as close to me as possible “.
 Avery begins to cry as she lights a match and waits for Eliza to turn on the torch , Avery puts the match on the torch and lights it , just before she leaves , Avery gives Eliza her first kiss and runs out of the house , closing the door behind her , Eliza runs up the stairs and starts the fight in her parents room and slowly walks down the stairs , running the flame on the walls , making a long streak as it slowly spreads to the ceiling , Eliza goes to the first floor and lights her moms vessel on fire then lighting her own body on fire . As Eliza starts to burn , she runs into every room of the house that isn’t hit yet and finally falls to the floor as her head pops off dripping blood on the floor as she tries to escape out of the fire , only to be burned to nothing , Avery outside falls to her knees as she watches the house burn down , nothing left but rubble , firefighters appear moments later to extinguish the flame before it trails to the other houses nearby , Avery looks at the firefighters as they walk back to their truck and one of them seems a little weird , smiling at Avery . Go back ten minutes ago before Avery decided to go down stairs , she felt the urge to go into the room across the hall from Eliza’s room , Avery opens the door , leading to thousands of pictures of potential bug carriers  , including herself , Avery closes the door back and smiles , as she goes downstairs , playing stupid saying “ What’s going on “ .
